The camera uses a 1/1.2" Sony IMX585 mono sensor with 3856 x 2180 pixels and 2.9 µm pixel size. That resolution and pixel scale help you pick up guide stars and resolve features in solar imaging while keeping the housing compact.
Measured full-well capacity of about 47ke and read noise ranging down to 0.7e support smoother gradients and cleaner signals, useful for precise guiding and when imaging high-contrast targets. The camera also reports a quantum efficiency peak near 91 percent for strong sensitivity.
When connected over USB 3.0 the Xena 585M can deliver up to 47 frames per second at full resolution in RAW8 mode. A 256 MB DDR3 buffer helps stabilize transfers so live preview and guiding stay responsive even when host I/O varies.
The camera is 1.25 inch in diameter and includes a 1.25" / M28.5x0.6 adapter and a 7.5 mm back focal length, letting it slide into typical 1.25" guider focusers or accept small CS/1.25" optics. A rolling shutter and exposure range from 32 µs to 2000 s cover guiding and short solar shots.
