Explore Ares-M Pro

High dynamic range, compact cooled sensor

Ares-M Pro combines a 1-inch Sony IMX533 monochrome sensor with deep two-stage TEC cooling to capture faint deep-sky detail while preserving highlights. Its 9 MP, 3.76 µm pixels and large full well are paired with a lightweight carbon-fiber body aimed at enthusiasts who want cooled performance without heavy payloads.

Sony IMX533 mono sensor and resolution

The camera uses a 1-inch Sony IMX533 monochrome sensor with a 3008 x 3008 (9 MP) array and 3.76 µm pixels, yielding an 11.31 x 11.31 mm imaging area. This format balances resolution and pixel size for detailed framing of small to medium deep-sky targets.

High full-well and 14-bit capture for wide dynamic range

Ares-M Pro offers up to about 73,000 electrons full-well and a 14-bit ADC, which helps retain highlight detail and extend tonal range in single exposures and HDR workflows. That capacity is useful when imaging bright cores and faint nebulosity together.

Deep two-stage TEC cooling and anti-dew support

The dual-stage TEC cooler delivers a delta-T of roughly 35 to 40 degrees Celsius below ambient, reducing thermal noise for long exposures. The design includes anti-dew heater circuitry to help keep the sensor window clear during humid nights.

Dual sampling modes and low read noise options

Two sampling modes let you prioritise speed or noise. Normal mode supports faster frame rates for planetary or high-speed capture. LRN mode reduces read noise, manufacturer figures show read noise down to about 1.0 e- in the best conditions, useful for faint deep-sky targets.

Carbon-fiber body, tilt plates and accessory adapters

The lightweight 420 g carbon-fiber body includes a front three-point sensor tilt plate and an optional rear four-point plate to help correct corner stars when using filter wheels, OAGs or fast optics. The camera ships with multiple M42 and M48 extenders and adapters for flexible back focal setups.
