High well depth for bright targets

This cooled mono camera uses a large 9 µm pixel Sony IMX432 sensor to capture high dynamic range scenes like the Sun and Moon. It combines a big full-well, global shutter readout and two-stage TEC cooling so highlights stay detailed while the sensor runs cooler than ambient.

Large pixels and 1.7 MP mono sensor

The Sony IMX432 mono sensor provides 1608 × 1104 resolution with 9 µm pixels on a 1.1 inch (14.5 × 9.9 mm) format. Larger pixels help capture more charge per exposure, which matters for bright scenes and when you need fewer exposures to preserve highlight detail.

Very high full-well for highlight retention

Full well capacity is specified at about 100 k e minus, giving strong highlight headroom. That high well depth reduces clipping on bright solar or lunar detail and supports HDR-style exposures where you need both bright and faint structure in the same scene.

Global shutter with HCG mode and low read noise

The IMX432 uses a global shutter, so exposures avoid rolling-shutter smear on fast-moving or changing scenes. A High Conversion Gain readout mode reduces noise to about 2.6 electrons, while the readout range spans toward 22.9 e minus, letting you trade dynamic range against read noise as needed.

Two-stage TEC cooling and anti-dew

A 2-stage TEC cooler is built into the camera and the manufacturer specifies a typical delta-T of 35 to 40°C below ambient. An integrated anti-dew PCB is included to help keep the window clear during cooled imaging sessions, improving stability for longer exposures or high-contrast solar work.

Compact carbon-fiber body, tilters and accessories

The camera uses a lightweight carbon-fiber housing and ships with a front 3-point tilter plus an optional rear 4-point tilter arrangement, a shading pad and a selection of adapters and cables. A 512 MB DDR3 buffer helps with high-speed transfers even when using USB 2.0 links.
