The optical layout delivers a 44 mm image circle that supports full-frame sensors at prime focus. That means you can use large-format cameras without adding a separate field flattener, keeping the imaging train simpler and better aligned for wide sensors.
Two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements are placed in the front group to help reduce chromatic aberration. In practice that produces finer star colour and improved sharpness across the field compared with simple achromats, which matters for high-resolution planetary work and for wide-field targets.
A 3.2-inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser gives precise focus control for both visual and camera setups. The rear accepts common interfaces: M63 x 1, M54 x 0.75, M48 x 0.75 and 2-inch fittings, so you can attach cameras, adapters and accessories without custom machining.
Although designed for imaging, the 126MA supports visual accessories such as diagonals and eyepieces and can be adapted for binoviewer-style observing with appropriate add-ons. An optional 0.8x reducer is available for users who want a faster focal ratio while retaining edge performance on large sensors.
