The air-spaced quintuplet Petzval design produces a native flat field across a 55 mm image circle. That means better corner performance on larger sensors without adding a separate field flattener, which simplifies the imaging train and helps preserve image quality at the edges.
With a 108 mm aperture and 518 mm focal length at f/4.8, the 108SAP delivers a fast plate scale for collecting more light in shorter exposures. The quintuplet layout and specialty glass elements aim to keep stars sharp and well corrected across the field for wide-field deep-sky imaging.
A 3.7 inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser provides 35 mm of effective travel for accommodating heavy cameras and accessories. Integrated tilt and rotation adjustment lets you align the camera plane and frame orientation without extra adapters, helping achieve pinpoint focus and consistent corner illumination.
The OTA uses a CNC-machined aluminum tube, ships with tube rings, a Losmandy-style dovetail and a carry handle for stable mounting and easier handling. A retractable dew shield keeps the system compact for transport, and the package includes an aluminum carry case for safer storage and travel.
