A unified optical layout combines a triplet objective with a crescent-shaped field flattener so the 106MA provides a native flat field. That design supports full-frame prime-focus imaging across a 44 mm image circle, reducing the need for separate flatteners or additional corrective optics for large sensors.
The front lens group uses two ED glass elements to tame chromatic aberration and enhance fine detail. This helps deliver cleaner star images and better colour control than a simple achromat, which matters for high-resolution imaging and for visual views where colour fringing is noticeable.
Unlike many dedicated astrographs, the 106MA accepts standard visual accessories such as diagonals, eyepieces, and with an extender, binoviewers. That flexibility means you can switch between astrophotography and visual observing without changing to a different instrument.
A 3.2-inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser gives fine control for critical focus. The tube runs about 600 mm retracted and 820 mm extended, and the OTA weighs 5.2 kg with a gross weight of 6.3 kg including rings and dovetail. The rear offers M63, M54, M48 threads and a 2-inch adapter for camera and visual attachments.
The package includes the Sky Rover 106MA OTA, tube rings, a Vixen-style dovetail plate, handle, finder base, 2-inch adapter, M54 adapter, M48 adapter, a focus extension tube, and a soft carry bag.
An optional 0.8x reducer is available for users who want a wider field or faster effective focal ratio.
